Having recently moved their team to Venice, California, they hit the ground running, gathering seller leads quickly using both old school techniques (like cold calling, door knocking and leaving handwritten letters) and new school techniques (like marketing on Waze, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa).
After closing a few transactions in Venice within a short amount of time, they decided to completely cannibalize their realty business in an effort to launch a real estate tech startup, called My Home Agent.
They initially started by selling their verified real estate leads to their colleagues at Keller Williams Realty, but within a few weeks of launch, they were covered in the real estate blogs Inman and The Real Deal for their different tech products.
Ultimately, My Home Agent’s Amazon Alexa gained the most publicity and traction, service grew and became the focus of the team. If you visit Amazon and type “My Home Agent” in the search bar, then you’ll see our company has become the leader in helping Realtors market on Amazon and Alexa enabled devices.
But to date, only 1,000+ Realtors are using this service, though there are over 2M Realtors in the United States. And per reports that nearly 50% of Americans have a smart speaker like Alexa, that means nearly 150M US residents have a device but don’t have a Realtor marketing to them yet.
